Car advertising in inner Melbourne and the CBD
The fewest kilometres of any region and by far the most people per kilometre, a trade the inner city makes worth taking.
The region
What advertising on inner Melbourne and the CBD actually looks like
An inner-city campaign car covers less ground than one anywhere else in Melbourne, and that is not the problem it sounds like. Traffic here moves slowly, stops constantly, and is surrounded by pedestrians on both sides. A kilometre of Brunswick Street at 6pm puts a sticker in front of vastly more people, for vastly longer each, than a kilometre of the Hume.
Slow traffic also changes what you can put on the car. Out in the growth corridors a sticker has to work at a glance, so it is a name and a category and nothing else. Inner-city dwell time is long enough for an actual offer, a second line, a QR code that someone genuinely has time to scan while stopped at Punt Road.
The catch is honest: inner-city campaigns produce lower raw kilometre counts, and your weekly coverage report will show that. What it will also show is a much denser heatmap in a much smaller area. If your customers are in Richmond, that is the right shape. If you need to be seen across Melbourne, run this region alongside another one rather than on its own.
Roads your campaign runs
Punt Road / Hoddle Street
the inner city's most congested corridor, and its best dwell time
Chapel Street
slow retail traffic through South Yarra, Prahran and Windsor
Brunswick Street
Fitzroy's strip, dense with pedestrians on both kerbs
Swan Street
Richmond through to the sports precinct
St Kilda Road
the boulevard into the CBD, heavy tram and car traffic
Flemington Road
the northern approach past the hospital precinct

Western suburbs
The west is where Velo4U started, and it is still where our driver density is deepest.
Car advertising in the western suburbs →Northern suburbs
Two different markets on one corridor, established inner-north and the Hume growth belt, and a campaign can sit in either or run both.
Car advertising in the northern suburbs →South-east
The largest single catchment in Melbourne, and the one where a fleet of cars beats a fixed site by the widest margin.
Car advertising in the south-east →Eastern suburbs
High-value households, dense local centres, and very little outdoor inventory to buy, which is precisely the gap a moving ad fills.
Car advertising in the eastern suburbs →Bayside
One long coastal corridor where nearly everyone uses the same two roads, so a car on them is in front of the whole strip.
