The south-east is enormous and it is not organised around one centre. Dandenong, Springvale, Narre Warren, Cranbourne, Berwick and Pakenham each pull their own local traffic, which is exactly the situation a fixed billboard handles worst, whichever site you buy, most of the region never passes it. A fleet spread across those centres reaches all of them in the same week.
It is also Melbourne's industrial and trade heartland. Dandenong South alone moves an enormous volume of commercial traffic, and a campaign car on Greens Road or Frankston–Dandenong Road spends its day in front of exactly the businesses a B2B advertiser wants. That is an unusual thing for outdoor advertising to be able to target.
Distances out here are long, which suits the model: the same weekly rate buys noticeably more kilometres in Cranbourne than it does in Carlton. If raw coverage is what you are after, this is the region that delivers most of it.
